WCTGives "Uniting Communities, Building the Nation" CSR Initiative Revive the "heart" of Kampung Sungai Kembong Hilir, Kajang

A small kampung in Kajang named Kampung Sungai Kembong Hilir lived more than 2,000 residents which their activities are mainly within the kampung itself. The balai raya - which is the heart of the kampung had been closed since 2017 due to ageing structures and roof damage, was recently restored by the Hulu Langat District Office and the local community.

WCT Holdings Berhad (“WCT” or “the Group”), an investment holding company with businesses in engineering and construction, property development, as well as investment in and management of retail malls, hotels, and business aviation, has launched its latest CSR initiative, “Uniting Communities, Building the Nation” (Mengeratkan Komuniti Bersama Membina Negara), at Kampung Sungai Kembong Hilir, Kajang.

Organised under WCTGives and guided by its pillars of #WeCareTogether and #EducationForAll, the initiative aims to revitalise the village’s balai raya and enhance facilities that support learning, social development, and community well-being.

The company came in to build on the efforts of the local authorities and community by contributed funds and volunteer support to refurbish the hall’s adjoining toilet, upgrade the badminton court into a multipurpose space, enhance the kitchen, and provide new tables, chairs, and a reading corner equipped with 300 books for local children. These improvements will enable the balai raya to once again serve as a venue for community meetings, cooking classes, tuition sessions, and recreational activities – fostering learning and connection across generations.

Look at the smiles on the children's face, I believe this corner will benefit them for a lifetime. :)

The multipurpose court refurbish by WCT is now a space for the community for their sports activities.

In addition, WCT extended its support to 100 families from nearby villages – Kampung Sungai Kembong Hilir, Kampung Rinching Hilir, and Kampung Sungai Kembong Hulu by providing Kotak Rezeki packages containing essential groceries worth RM100 each.

Dato’ Lee Tuck Fook, Group Managing Director of WCT, said, “The programme reflects WCT’s continuous commitment to strengthening its role as a responsible and caring development partner of the nation. We believe that meaningful progress begins at the community level — by rebuilding shared spaces, empowering youth through education, and nurturing environments where people can learn, connect, and thrive together.

Through WCTGives, we continue to foster stronger community bonds while cultivating empathy and social responsibility among our employees.”

Meanwhile, Datuk Ab Wahab Bin Khalil, Immediate Past Independent Non-Executive Director of WCT Holdings Berhad and a firm supporter of the Group's CSR efforts, who was present at the event, added, “This initiative reinforces WCT’s commitment to enhancing community development and well-being. With the upgraded community hall, residents now have a safe and conducive space to conduct classes, meetings, and recreational activities that bring people together.”

Echoing the community’s appreciation, Jumat Omar, Village Head of Kampung Sungai Kembong Hilir, said: “The upgraded balai raya is a meaningful contribution to our community. It restores not just a building, but also the sense of unity among residents. We are truly grateful for WCT’s support and efforts in improving the wellbeing of our village.”

The smiles of the community's face showed that what WCT has done has been benefited to them and it will be a long lasting impact to them. May company like WCT lend a helping hands to the community, just like the saying goes: From the community for the community.

Good Job WCT!

Safi, the well-known skincare brand among the Malay community has continued its mission to empower women by instilling confidence and equipping them with the skills needed to build a brighter future. In collaboration with Watsons Malaysia, Safi conducted the "Bengkel Keusahawanan & Keyakinan Diri" initiative; a program designed to impart essential entrepreneurial skills while promoting self-reliance and independence among women.

Safi hosted a special Buka Puasa session back in March 2025 for the women and single mothers of Rumah Titian Kaseh. This gathering embraced the essence of togetherness and generosity that defines this sacred season, underscoring the Islamic practice of providing meals to those in need, which fosters blessings and aligns with core teachings of being a Muslim. This heartfelt gesture reflects Safi’s commitment to holistic empowerment, nurturing both personal growth and spiritual well-being.

As part of this initiative, women from Rumah Titian Kaseh participated in a specially curated workshop that aligns with Safi’s ongoing efforts to uplift and support women on their journey toward self-sufficiency and empowerment. The workshop was graced by the esteemed presence of Yang Berbahagia Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, Chairman of Malaysia Women and Family Affairs Council (HAWA Malaysia), and her team from HAWA, who engaged with participants, adding a special touch to the event, making it special and meaningful.

Recognizing that women thrive when given the right opportunities and support, Safi remains dedicated to fostering empowerment. The "Bengkel Keusahawanan & Keyakinan Diri" initiative offers participants the chance to develop valuable skills through two specially designed sessions:

Skincare Bouquet Arrangement Workshop: A creative session where participants craft unique bouquets using Safi skincare products, encouraging creativity and entrepreneurial skills.

Skincare & Personal Care Grooming Workshop: A session focused on enhancing personal grooming and boosting confidence, using Safi’s skincare and personal care products.

To reinforce its commitment, Safi proudly announces RM10,000 donation to Rumah Titian Kaseh along with a one year supply of Safi products to the home.

“At Safi, we believe that empowerment transcends skincare; it encompasses building confidence and equipping women with the skills to shape their futures. Through initiatives like today’s workshop, we aim to inspire and uplift women, helping them unlock their full potential," said Kazlina Kassim, Brand & Insights Specialist at Safi Malaysia.

Biasiswa Siswi Safi Returns for a Second Year

At the workshop, Safi unveiled a film titled “Serlah Seri Diri, Anugerah Dihayati,” which follows the inspiring journey of Seri, a young woman whose unwavering determination drives her to pursue her dreams. Through her story, the video highlights that while life offers us many opportunities, it is what we choose to do with them that shapes our destiny. More than just a narrative, the commercial embodies the spirit of hope and resilience that Safi seeks to inspire in every young woman.

Safi is proud to announce the return of the Biasiswa Siswi Safi Program for its second year. inDrive Delivers Ramadan Warmth with 10,000 bubur lambuk and kurma

inDrive, the global mobility and urban services platform, successfully concluded its Roda Kasih initiative this Ramadan, distributing more than 10,000 portions of bubur lambuk and kurma across Penang, Johor Bahru, and the Klang Valley while supporting local small vendors.

More than just a meal, each bowl of bubur lambuk symbolised inDrive’s mission of fairness and inclusivity, a reflection of the belief that everyone deserves a seat at the table, especially during this sacred month of togetherness. Just as inDrive challenges inequality through its people-powered platform, this initiative aimed to share the joy of breaking fast with everyone, ensuring the spirit of giving extended to all corners of the community.

To further its impact, inDrive sourced all bubur lambuk and kurma from local small vendors, helping to boost their businesses during the festive period. This approach not only ensured freshly prepared, authentic meals but also directly benefited small-scale entrepreneurs who rely on Ramadan sales for their livelihoods.

Good job inDrive!!!

The initiative touched lives across Ramadan bazaars, B40 housing areas, and hospitals, offering more than just a warm meal. It also provided a meaningful platform for inDrive’s driver community to embrace the spirit of giving. More than 30 drivers volunteered their time and effort, not only delivering bubur lambuk but also engaging with the people they serve daily. Their participation underscored their role as more than just drivers but key contributors to the communities around them.

In Johor Bahru, inDrive took an even more impactful approach by extending support to victims of the recent devastating floods. inDrive stepped in by distributing food and essential supplies at a temporary relief centre (PPS) sheltering over 400 flood victims. While floodwaters have started receding in some areas, many families are still unable to return home due to severe mud damage. By assisting those affected, inDrive reinforced its dedication to standing by the community in times of need.

“The overwhelming response from both the public and our drivers has been truly heartwarming. Seeing our drivers actively participate in giving back to the community reflects the strong sense of togetherness that Ramadan inspires. As we continue to grow, we remain committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for both drivers and the community. We hope to create more opportunities like this in the future, strengthening our connection with our Malaysian community,” said Azlan Anwar, Driver Operations Manager - inDrive Malaysia.

Through Roda Kasih, inDrive reaffirms its commitment to uplifting communities by providing mobility solutions, actively supporting local businesses, and ensuring fairness reaches all levels of society. Whether it’s sharing a warm meal during Ramadan or stepping up in times of crisis, inDrive remains dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of Malaysians. As the platform continues to grow, so does its mission to drive positive change, proving that real impact goes beyond transportation, it’s about people, purpose, and compassion.

The world and community need more corporate like inDrive Malaysia! Spread love not haters! <3
